Buying extra for future repairs goes for everything, including trim.
When it comes to paint, be aware that each batch of it tends to differ slightly from the previous or next batch. Therefore, you may have to repaint an entire wall rather than touch up a damaged spot. It is still wise to keep a record of all the paint used in your project.
Make sure you order products well in advance of the installation date, if you want to make sure your project begins and ends on time. For example, kitchen cabinets typically take eight to ten weeks from the time you order them to arrive. Custom windows usually take four to six weeks to arrive after you’ve chosen them.
Always make sure that what you’ve ordered is in stock. If the item is on back order, try to get the supplier to commit to a delivery date. Once each product arrives, make certain that the contractor checks that the product is new and in good shape and that all the pieces necessary to be installed properly have arrived. A missing widget can delay installation and hold up an entire project.
